Ranil Holden: A Mystery in Ontario
My wife found a tape in a Salvation Army shop in Kenora, Ontario this summer. It appeared to be home-made, or at least very cheaply made, and was attributed to Ranil Holden. Here’s the cover:
The music is great – so great I spent this evening converting the songs on the tape to MP3s and then uploading one of the best ones to YouTube. Soulful blues from a woman who I am informed sings with a Scandanavian accent. A mystery, too. Standard internet stalking techniques bring up no information. Google knows nothing of the name. Part of me thinks this shouldn’t be surprising, but the other part expected to find a Geocities fansite with upcoming concert dates for the Kenora area. Oh well.
